I"Wow. Just wow.
So much happened! I can't really believe that I am really here... at one of the biggest, most sucessful, best-known studs of whole Europe. Trying to get a horse I never saw in my life ready to join the most exclusive competition in the world of equestrian sport.
It happened so much - I will try to recall everything as exactly as possible.
Anne was sitting at the table, when I stepped into Waving Tree's little, messy bureau.
"Anne?", said I and stepped closer, inspecting what she was doing.
"Mh?", said she and smiled.
"I just wanted to ask you about..." I was searching for some words to continue - at this point I don't even know anymore what I intended to ask - but her smile looked so different, so "I know something and you not", that I hesitated. "What are you doing?", I asked instead and circled the table to take a peek at the screen.
"I'm searching for a horse.", she said bluntly and smiled at me with this special expression.
"A horse?" I took a closer look, and it indeed looked like some kind of advertisement.
"A horse for you, to specify."
I was stunned. "For me?! I don't need another horse. We couldn't pay another anyway.", said I.
"A horse for you..." Anne looked back onto the screen and zoomed in a picture of a slender, beautiful grey with sabino markings and a light mane. "...to join the Olympics. I talked to Jill about this topic, and... I think, that's the right thing for you, girl." She smiled again, but I felt my face derailing. I can remember this very scene well - I was too surprised to think properly. Then, slowly, my brain began to put the pieces of information together... and the surprise went away. I felt a little fear now.
"You...", continued Anne, because I hadn't said a word, "you will travel to RPS' Imperial Stables and prepare yourself and the Australian Warmblood Seaborn Odyssey for the showjumping competition." It sounded like she was reading a text off a sheet.
"Alone?", I squeaked.
The train left few days later. And it was so easy! I climbed into the wagon, searched for an empty place, put my baggage into the overhead, sat down, waved my friends goodbye, and then I was gone. I think, my face still looked the same as when Anne had told me my
So I was on my way to Austria, weeks before everyone else would travel there, too, to compete in or just witness the great HaRPG-Olympics. Like me.
Oh my goodness. What am I doing, I thought several times. I couldn't really concentrate on the book I brought with me.
What am I doing, I thought while the train passed cities, forests and lakes, and brought me deeper into the mountains.
"Well... this indeed is... imperial.", I said with a tiny voice. This building in front of me was so big and noble, it could have gulped me down with a single
So I was now here - and I felt even to small to take a step forward, afraid I could be blown away by a gust of wind.
But hadn't I felt the same when I was heading to the Wild West, head over heels hurling myself into an adventure I hadn't the slightest clue about? I could accomplish this, too.
Yes - when I stood there with my baggage, thinking about everything I had experienced and also learned in the prairie, everyone I had met there, the plants and sights and scents - when I recalled everything about the Trail, I knew:
I could do this too.#HaRPG-Olympics 2013 picture guideI
